Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in a food preparation position
  • Ability to promote and participate in a team environment
  • Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others
  • Subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to maneuver in a tightly quartered environment
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand, use hands, reach, taste or smell regularly
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch occasionally
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to walk approximately one-fourth mile frequently
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Exposure to wet, humid, and cold conditions
  • Ability to work in cold environments such as cleaning refrigerators
  • Frequent hand contact with soapy water and chemicals
  • Ability to follow detailed but uninvolved instructions
  • Ability to operate in moderate noise
  • Ability to walk with non-skid shoes

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years in a food preparation position
  • ability to promote and participate in a team environment
  • ability to understand written and oral directions and communicate effectively
  • degree from a postsecondary culinary arts training program (preferred)
  • ACF professional certification (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Participate as part of culinary leadership team to manage a culinary department for food preparation
  • Supervise the daily set-up of department's stations ensuring work areas are stocked
  • Maintain product consistency through continuous inspection and tasting of seasonings, portions, and appearance
  • Ensure adherence to Sodexo Live! standards for food quality
  • Train kitchen staff to strengthen culinary skills and maintain kitchen safety
  • Monitor and organize kitchen workflow to support overall operation
  • Mentor and develop other culinarians
