Job Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have experience and knowledge of kitchen equipment including knives, knife sharpener, slicer, salamander, stove, broiler, oven, mixer, fryer, wok, and other restaurant equipment
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and dining room personnel
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a Cook IV or equivalent culinary role
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coach kitchen staff
  • Proficient in handling a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
  • Ability to multitask and supervise multiple kitchen stations simultaneously
  • Commitment to quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction
  • Effective communication and leadership skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking using kitchen equipment
  • Manage in-shift adjustments to culinary labor to optimize shift productivity
  • Assume full responsibility for the quality of products produced throughout the kitchen while working
  • Lead production during pre-shift meetings to ensure proper line build and training
  • Help maintain culinary-related NPS and guest sentiment metrics within budget
  • Ensure compliance with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies
  • Maintain correct stock levels and back-up prep for all line stations
  • Ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen environment at all times
  • Direct proper set-up, maintenance, restocking, cleanliness, and organization of the kitchen
  • Ensure proper plate presentation and garnish set-ups
  • Coach and correct cooks to improve performance
  • Open and close the kitchen as needed
  • Ensure strict adherence to recipes and standards for all dishes prepared
  • Direct and practice safe food handling, storage, receiving, and rotation
  • Attend scheduled team member meetings and contribute improvement suggestions
  • Place and receive orders as directed
  • Validate line readiness for all stations
  • Conduct taste and sensory checks and correct items not meeting standards
  • Enforce proper culinary uniform standards
  • Work with management to address guest allergy concerns
  • Execute training shifts successfully
  • Leave detailed daily logs
  • Read production sheets and understand inventory and recipe scaling
  • Other duties as assigned
