Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a culinary role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
- Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff effectively
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to maintain high food quality and safety standards
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to handle disciplinary actions professionally
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
- Experience in staff training and development
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and solve problems efficiently
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with kitchen inventory management and payroll processes
Job Duties
- Trains all associates in the kitchen on proper job performance including plate presentation and display work
- Writes schedules, evaluates, and directs all kitchen personnel
- Maintains open verbal and written communication between management and associates
- Prepares and presents disciplinary action when necessary
- Provides associates with the tools and equipment needed for their jobs
- Takes immediate action to resolve kitchen problems
- Participates in monthly department meetings, weekly staff and kitchen meetings, monthly inventory, and MOD program
- Ensures all food served is high quality, properly prepared, and efficiently expedited
- Assists in establishing goals, standards, and objectives to enhance the organization's reputation and profitability
- Supervises kitchen staff and sanitation associates in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Maintains use records, roast meat charts, and recipe cards
- Prepares recipe cards and picture presentations of all menu items
- Submits payroll hours to the Accounting Department on time
