Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Several years of culinary experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in a kitchen setting
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Proven culinary experience in a professional kitchen
  • Experience in supervising and training kitchen staff
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Skilled in menu planning and food presentation
  • Ability to problem solve quickly and delegate effectively

Job Duties

  • Train all kitchen associates in job duties including plate presentation and display work
  • Write schedules and direct all kitchen personnel
  • Maintain open verbal and written communication between management and associates
  • Write and present disciplinary actions as needed
  • Provide associates with necessary tools and equipment
  • Take immediate action to resolve kitchen problems
  • Participate in department meetings, staff meetings, kitchen inventory, and management programs
  • Ensure all food served is of high quality, properly prepared, and efficiently expedited
  • Assist in establishing goals, standards, and objectives to enhance reputation and profitability
  • Supervise kitchen staff and utility and sanitation associates in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Maintain all use records, roast meat charts, and recipe cards
  • Prepare recipe cards and picture presentation of all menu items
  • Submit payroll hours timely to the Accounting Department
