Job Qualifications

- Proven experience as a sous chef or relevant role in a professional kitchen
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to coach and mentor culinary staff
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Culinary degree or certification preferred
Job Duties
- Train all kitchen associates on job duties including plate presentation and display work
- Write schedules and evaluate kitchen personnel
- Maintain open verbal and written communication between management and associates
- Write and present disciplinary actions as needed
- Provide kitchen associates with necessary tools and equipment
- Take immediate action on problems encountered in the kitchen
- Participate in department and staff meetings, inventory, and the MOD program
- Ensure all food is high quality, properly prepared, and efficiently expedited to outlets
- Assist in establishing goals, standards, and objectives to enhance the organization’s prestige and profitability
- Supervise the kitchen staff and sanitation associates in the Executive Chef’s absence
- Maintain use records, roast meat charts, and recipe cards
- Prepare recipe cards and picture presentations for menu items
- Submit payroll hours to the accounting department timely
