Job Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain all required licenses and certifications
- Must successfully pass background check
- Must successfully pass drug screening
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends and flexible shifts
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to operate kitchen tools and equipment
- Ability to inspect and maintain food quality
- Ability to manage cash flow and security of assets
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive food preparation experience
- Completion of culinary arts degree or accredited apprenticeship and 4 years of progressive food preparation experience
- At least 1 year in a supervisory capacity
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations
- Understanding of standard safety and sanitation practices
- Familiarity with food preparation including stocks, sauces, and various meats
- Organizational and budgeting skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules
Job Duties
- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana for gaming entertainment
- Acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service
- Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates and supervises staff
- Establishes and maintains training and development procedures
- Maintains department objectives, standards, guidelines and budget
- Monitors food purchasing, staffing, food preparation and inventory to control costs and waste
- Monitors and evaluates food preparation to ensure quality and consistency
- Assists in developing menu changes
- Monitors and advises on food storage compliance
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment
- Attends and participates in meetings
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces
- Performs other assigned duties
