Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional kitchen experience with minimum 1 year in a leadership role
  • Culinary degree or certificate preferred
  • High school diploma required
  • Prior restaurant or hospitality experience
  • Serv Safe Food and Alcohol Certification
  • Ability to make independent decisions and solve problems
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to exert fast-paced mobility including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work 50 hours per week in a 7-day per week operational environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in professional kitchens with at least 1 year in a sous chef or similar leadership role
  • Culinary degree or certificate preferred
  • High school diploma required
  • Prior work experience in restaurant or hospitality industry
  • Serv Safe Food and Alcohol Certification
  • Strong leadership abilities including good listening skills and ability to motivate others
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Ability to understand guest needs and effectively communicate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook including email, calendar scheduling, and task organization

Job Duties

  • Manage and direct the work of all heart of house departments in absence of Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in implementing and enforcing management policies and operating practices
  • Assist in controlling food and labor costs by investigating variances and ensuring proper product handling
  • Ensure adherence to company policies including food safety, sanitation, and OSHA regulations
  • Perform job functions of other management personnel as needed
  • Address guest complaints promptly and professionally
  • Utilize company business systems effectively including POS, HRIS, hiring, scheduling, inventory, and labor management systems
  • Assign, direct, and approve work of cooks and HOH team members
  • Develop and mentor HOH team members through training, coaching, and counseling
  • Determine appropriate staffing levels, manage breaks and shift cuts based on business needs
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, and making recommendations for new hires
  • Complete performance appraisals and manage discipline for HOH team members
  • Authorize and assign overtime as necessary
  • Ensure company recipes and approved products are utilized appropriately
