Job Requirements

  • Valid Food Handler's card preferred
  • ability to work a full-time schedule including Monday, Thursday, and Friday through Sunday with varying hours
  • capability to supervise and coordinate kitchen staff
  • knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques
  • commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers
  • flexibility to perform various kitchen duties as required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • proven experience as a sous chef or in a similar kitchen supervisory role
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
  • strong leadership and organizational skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • culinary degree or certification is a plus
  • familiarity with sustainable sourcing practices

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
  • ensure all deadlines are met based on production orders
  • supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews, and recommending disciplinary action as appropriate
  • store food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils and clean workstation thoroughly before leaving area
  • keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation, safety, production, and merchandising requirements
  • interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner and relay relevant information to supervisor
  • demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers
  • keep up with peak production and service hours
  • monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, track product production, consumption, and waste, and inform supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • perform other duties as assigned
