Job Requirements

- Knowledge of long-term care dining standards and dietary regulations
- Experience with menu planning, catering, and cost control
Job Duties
- Prepare, portion, and serve food in accordance with established menu cycles, recipes, and production standards
- Taste food to ensure quality, flavor, and presentation meet expectations
- Demonstrate safe and efficient operation of all kitchen equipment
- Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and infection control standards in compliance with State, Federal, and Well-Spring Group policies
- Perform basic mathematical calculations to adjust recipes and portions as needed
- Supervise and train kitchen assistants, cooks, and other food service staff
- ensure all assigned tasks are completed properly and on time
- Train staff on production techniques, cross-contamination prevention, time and temperature control, sanitation, and proper food storage
- Ensure compliance with Alamance County Food Service Inspection Guidelines and maintain an "A" grade standard at all times
- Assist new employees in following departmental policies and facility procedures
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and other assigned facility activities
- Support catering and special events for residents and guests
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services
