Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of culinary experience
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare, portion, and serve food in accordance with established menu cycles, recipes, and production standards
  • Taste food to ensure quality, flavor, and presentation meet expectations
  • Demonstrate safe and efficient operation of all kitchen equipment
  • Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and infection control standards in compliance with State, Federal, and Well-Spring Group policies
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations to adjust recipes and portions as needed
  • Supervise and train kitchen assistants, cooks, and other food service staff
  • ensure all assigned tasks are completed properly and on time
  • Train staff on production techniques, cross-contamination prevention, time and temperature control, sanitation, and proper food storage
  • Ensure compliance with Alamance County Food Service Inspection Guidelines and maintain an "A" grade standard at all times
  • Assist new employees in following departmental policies and facility procedures
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and other assigned facility activities
  • Support catering and special events for residents and guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services
