Job Requirements

  • Associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent certification preferred
  • minimum 7 years cooking experience
  • minimum 1-3 years supervisory experience
  • proficiency in food safety regulations
  • ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • strong leadership skills
  • experience managing teams
  • excellent communication skills
  • commitment to comply with company policies and training
  • physical ability to stand, bend, lift over 25 pounds during long shifts
  • flexibility to work rotating schedules and travel up to 25%
  • ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
  • familiarity with wage and hour policies
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • computer literacy

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or Culinary Arts certification preferred
  • minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Chef or Sous Chef
  • minimum 7 years of experience as a cook
  • previous supervisory experience in high-volume food production or catering preferred
  • in-flight catering experience preferred
  • ability to cook meals to detailed specifications
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent time management and multitasking ability
  • strong organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • ability to train and provide feedback to employees
  • innovative mindset and ability to improve operations
  • basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Ensuring food specifications and labor objectives meet company and customer requirements
  • supervising department for quality and quantity
  • ensuring adherence to food safety regulations like FDA, USDA, and HAACP
  • managing attendance and scheduling employees to optimize shifts
  • ordering raw materials and producing extra meals as needed
  • preparing daily production sheets and assigning tasks
  • training employees on preparation and safety procedures
  • maintaining cleanliness and quality during shifts
  • managing production in hot and cold kitchens for quality and consistency
  • ensuring compliance with wage and hour policies
  • monitoring manpower planning and scheduling
  • coaching and counseling employees in compliance with union agreements
  • reviewing and ensuring correct job titles and pay rates
  • ensuring all required training, including ServSafe, is completed
  • enforcing company policies and procedures
