Job Requirements

  • associates degree in culinary arts or culinary certification preferred
  • minimum 1-3 years experience as chef or sous chef required
  • minimum 7 years experience as cook required
  • previous supervisory experience preferred
  • ability to work in fast paced environment
  • strong leadership skills
  • ability to manage team
  • ability to train others
  • excellent communication skills
  • must be able to lift over 25 pounds
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to work rotating schedule over 55 hours per week
  • compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • completion of all required training including ServSafe
  • authorized to work in the USA

Job Qualifications

  • associates degree in culinary arts or culinary certification preferred

  • previous supervisory experience in high volume food production or catering preferred
  • in-flight catering or high volume food service experience preferred
  • ability to cook meals according to detailed specifications
  • ability to work in fast paced deadline driven environment

  • ability to manage a team
  • labor relations experience a plus
  • ability to drive positive program change
  • ability to train others
  • ability to give negative and positive feedback
  • excellent time management skills

  • working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • bilingual in Spanish a plus

Job Duties

  • assist executive sous chef or executive chef in designing and preparing meals for airline customers
  • provide culinary expertise and leadership
  • promote quality food services and ensure food safety and sanitation requirements are followed
  • drive food production with assistance of food supervisors
  • ensure food specifications and labor objectives meet company and customer requirements
  • supervise department for quality and quantity
  • ensure items are produced and dated according to specification and coding system
  • keep account of attendance and assign employees to shifts
  • order raw materials and produce extra meals as needed
  • prepare daily production sheets and assign tasks
  • train employees on proper procedures
  • maintain cleanliness and ensure safety procedures are followed
  • manage daily production for quality and consistency
  • ensure compliance with wage and hour policy
  • train and monitor employees for productivity and cost control
  • schedule employees and plan manpower
  • coach, counsel and prepare corrective actions
  • review employee cost centers and job titles
  • ensure correct pay rates
  • complete required training including ServSafe
  • comply with company policies and procedures
