Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage or related professional area
- OR two-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major
- 2 years experience in culinary, food and beverage or related professional area
- Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff effectively
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation and safety regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage budgets and operating expenses
- Flexibility to work shifts and weekends as needed
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
- Capability to train and develop employees
- Proficient in labor management systems
- Ability to handle guest feedback and resolve complaints professionally
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in culinary or food and beverage field
- OR two-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years experience
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong culinary skills and ability to prepare various foods
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to develop new menu applications and food presentations
- Proficient in budgeting and labor management
- Experience in customer service and guest relations
- Capable of training and mentoring staff
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Manages kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
- Estimates daily production needs and communicates to kitchen personnel
- Assists Executive Chef with kitchen operations and preparation
- Prepares and cooks foods for guests or special functions
- Develops and creates new menu ideas and artistic food presentations
- Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards
- Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
- Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and kitchen workers
- Leads kitchen shifts while preparing food and fulfilling requests
- Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage team members
- Encourages mutual trust, respect and cooperation among staff
- Sets a positive example as a role model
- Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters
- Establishes and maintains open and collaborative team relationships
- Communicates performance expectations and recognizes successful performance
- Provides above and beyond services for customer satisfaction and retention
- Manages day-to-day kitchen operations to meet quality and customer expectations
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback and handle complaints
- Achieves and exceeds culinary and budget goals
- Utilizes Labor Management System to schedule staff and track attendance
- Trains employees in safety procedures
- Identifies developmental needs and coaches staff to improve skills
- Participates in employee performance appraisals
- Reports issues to department manager and Human Resources
- Provides information to supervisors, co-workers and subordinates
- Analyzes information to solve problems and chooses best solutions
- Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings
