Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Possess ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or comparable Level 2 food protection course certification
  • Obtain Level 2 food protection course certification within 90 days of hire
  • Two to three years experience in food production with supervisory responsibilities
  • Knowledge of culinary arts including baking, salad preparation, hot food preparation, banquet production and service
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and storage procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Possess current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or comparable Level 2 food protection course certification per Ohio Administrative Code
  • Obtain Level 2 food protection course certification within 90 days of hire if not already certified
  • Two to three years experience in food production with supervisory responsibilities in an institutional or similar setting
  • Through knowledge of culinary arts including baking, salad preparation, hot food preparation, banquet production and service
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and storage procedures
  • Culinary graduate strongly preferred
  • Previous Sous Chef or Head Cook experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide effective service and efficient food production operations for catering, trayline, cafeteria, retail outlets, and room service functions
  • Monitor compliance with all safety, sanitation, and quality control requirements
  • Supervise assigned personnel ensuring productivity and adherence to standards
  • Uphold the standards of the system-wide customer service program
  • Coordinate with kitchen and food service teams to maintain smooth workflow
  • Manage inventory control and food storage procedures
  • Assist in training and development of food service staff
