Job Description

Grand Prairie Events & Convention Center is a premier event venue attached to the Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites in EpicCentral, set to open in December. The center boasts 10,000 square feet of versatile event space designed to accommodate a wide range of catering needs, alongside a full-service restaurant and bar dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a culinary leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen management
  • Ability to train and develop kitchen staff
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with scheduling and personnel evaluation
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • Ability to manage inventory and kitchen record keeping

Job Duties

  • Train all kitchen associates in their job duties including plate presentation and display work
  • Write schedules, evaluate and direct all kitchen personnel
  • Maintain open verbal and written communication between management and associates
  • Write and present disciplinary action as needed
  • Provide associates with necessary tools and equipment
  • Take immediate action to resolve kitchen problems
  • Participate in departmental and kitchen meetings as well as inventory and MOD programs
  • Ensure all food served meets high quality and recipe standards and is smoothly expedited
  • Assist in establishing kitchen goals, standards and objectives
  • Supervise entire kitchen staff and sanitation associates in the Executive Chef's absence
  • Maintain use records, roast meat charts, recipe cards and prepare picture presentations of menu items
  • Ensure timely submission of payroll hours to the accounting department
