Job Requirements

  • Degree or certification in culinary arts preferred
  • Minimum two years experience in a Sous Chef role preferred
  • At least two years supervisory experience in kitchen operations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor kitchen staff
  • Proficient in food preparation and cooking techniques
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment
  • Must report to work on time and comply with company policies
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • Degree or certification from a culinary institution preferred
  • Two years experience as a Sous Chef preferred
  • Two years kitchen supervisory experience with three years kitchen operations experience including one year as lead cook and one year as steward or equivalent education and experience
  • Strong leadership and team mentoring skills
  • Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards
  • Ability to manage budgets and departmental expenses
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Observe kitchen team members preparing, portioning and garnishing foods to ensure methods are as prescribed
  • Lead, train and mentor kitchen team members including coaching development, performing evaluations and progressive discipline
  • Collaborate on the creation, management and operation within departmental budget and expense plans
  • Cook and carve meats and prepare dishes such as sauces during rush periods and for banquets and social functions
  • Assume responsibility for kitchen in absence of Executive Chef
  • Prepare food products using standardized food preparation techniques
  • Monitor condition of food and cooking temperature
  • Support team member recognition and engagement programs
  • Report to work on time and in uniform according to company policy
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures pertaining to position
  • Embrace company culture initiatives including O'Reach, Green Team, Guest Service, Team Member Satisfaction, Health and Wellness, and Safety
  • Perform other duties as required or requested
