Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience as a sous chef or in a relevant kitchen leadership role
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to manage food production and kitchen staff
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Experience with cost control and budgeting
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
Job Qualifications

- Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Experience with food costing and inventory management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required
- Experience in banquet and event menu planning
- Familiarity with labor scheduling software
Job Duties
- Directs and participates in food production operations
- Leads, directs, coaches and teaches all kitchen and food production team members
- Assists with recruiting, hiring, and training team members, using approved company training materials and certified coaches
- Communicates job expectations and standards, review job performance, coach and hold team members accountable
- Prepares daily production list and directs food production activities for meals, banquets, and special events according to established recipes and standards
- Ensures line levels match forecasted sales
- Conducts daily line checks ensuring proper temperatures, portion sizes, quality, freshness and flavor profiles
- Ensures compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Assists in preparing annual budget for food, equipment, supplies, and labor
- Monitors sales, food and labor costs, adjusts to meet financial metrics
- Performs administrative and reporting tasks related to cost control
- Places and receives food and supply orders
- Assists with creating work schedules and managing staffing levels within budgeted labor costs
- Ensures kitchen equipment is safe and operational by following cleaning and maintenance procedures
- Develops training and growth plans for team members
- Enhances dining experience by tableside visits and partnering with dining room managers
- Participates in leadership planning sessions and partners with chefs at other locations
- Works with Sales Manager to develop and cost banquet and special event menus
- Facilitates daily pre-shift meetings
- Creates a cohesive kitchen team and promotes communication between back and front of house
- Fosters an environment of appreciation and recognition
- Performs related duties as assigned
