Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a kitchen leadership position
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to lead and train kitchen staff

Job Duties

  • Directs and participates in food production operations
  • Leads, directs, coaches and teaches kitchen and food production team members
  • Assists with recruiting, hiring, and training team members
  • Communicates job expectations, reviews job performance and holds team members accountable
  • Prepares daily production list and directs food production for meals, banquets, and special events
  • Ensures line levels match forecasted sales
  • Conducts daily line checks to ensure quality, freshness, portion control, and proper temperatures
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Assists Chef in budget preparation and monitors financial performance
  • Places food and supply orders and verifies deliveries
  • Creates work schedules managing labor costs
  • Maintains kitchen equipment safety and operational readiness
  • Develops training and growth plans for team members
  • Enhances dining experience through guest interaction
  • Participates in leadership planning and collaboration with other chefs
  • Works with Sales Manager to develop banquet and event menus
  • Facilitates pre-shift meetings and maintains communication logs
  • Builds a cohesive and motivated kitchen team
  • Promotes communication between back-of-house and front-of-house teams
  • Fosters a work environment of appreciation and recognition
