Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in culinary leadership or management
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and handle kitchen equipment safely

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in culinary management
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement menu items
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations
  • Experience with food cost management
  • Capability to plan and execute special events
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a full-service resort or hotel
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred

Job Duties

  • Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities
  • Assume the role of liaison between all departments within the culinary division and all other hotel departments
  • Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items
  • Develop and implement creative menu items that adhere to Hyatt brand standards
  • Plan, coordinate and implement special events and holiday functions
  • Manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
  • May manage other key culinary leadership roles including lead or supervisor
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
  • Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis
  • Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
