Job Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working near extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
  • Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors for events
  • Must be criminally cleared

Job Qualifications

  • Completed formal culinary, food service or restaurant training or equivalent supervisory or management-level work experience
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills with management, professional, and support staff
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and email communication
  • Experience in senior housing or related field preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Ensure food items are prepared to culinary standards and provide residents with an exceptional dining experience while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
  • Supervise and inspect all aspects of culinary service including logs, cooking equipment, storage rotation, and food service regularly to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions
  • Lead team in day-to-day kitchen operations through engagement, maintaining expectations, coaching, and accountability
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen environment
  • Coordinate with management and other staff to ensure smooth culinary operations
  • Manage inventory and assist with menu planning and food preparation
  • Train and support kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
