Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- Criminal background clearance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the shift
- Capacity to frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in proximity to extreme temperatures such as cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- Willingness to work both indoors primarily and outdoors occasionally for events
- Availability Tuesday through Saturday 11:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
- Strong work ethic and teamwork skills
Job Qualifications
- Minimum three years of culinary or food service experience preferred
- Formal culinary, food service, or restaurant training or equivalent supervisory or management-level experience
- Demonstrated leadership, training, and supervision skills
- Proficient in written and oral communication
- Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel applications
- Ability to work effectively with management and support staff
- Capable of managing multiple tasks in a high-paced environment
Job Duties
- Ensure food items are prepared to culinary standards and provide residents with an exceptional dining experience while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
- Supervise and inspect all aspects of culinary service including logs, cooking equipment, storage rotation, and food service regularly to ensure cleanliness and sanitation
- Lead kitchen team in day-to-day operations through engagement, maintaining expectations, coaching, and accountability
- Maintain up-to-date logs and records in compliance with health standards
- Collaborate with management and support staff to meet resident dietary needs and preferences
- Oversee kitchen safety protocols and equipment maintenance
- Participate in planning and execution of culinary events and special meals
