Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop all day
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working near extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
- Ability to work indoors and be available for outdoor events
- Must be criminally cleared
- Availability for Sunday through Thursday shifts 11:30 am - 7:30 pm
Job Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in senior housing or related culinary field preferred
- Demonstrated skills in leadership, training, and supervision
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- Completed formal culinary, food service or restaurant training or equivalent management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to send, receive, and forward emails
Job Duties
- Ensure food items are prepared to culinary standards and provide residents with an exceptional dining experience while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
- Supervise and inspect all aspects of culinary service including logs, cooking equipment, storage rotation, and food service to ensure cleanliness and sanitation
- Lead the culinary team in day-to-day operations through engagement, maintaining expectations, coaching, and accountability
- Maintain kitchen safety and sanitation standards according to regulations
- Collaborate with management and support staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality service
- Monitor inventory and order food supplies as needed
- Assist in training and developing culinary team members
