Job Requirements
- Must possess valid State Food Handlers Management Certification
- ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- ability to deal effectively with employees at all organizational levels
- physical stamina to stand, walk, and move through hotel/resort premises during full shift
- manual dexterity to operate office equipment and lift up to 50 pounds
- specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- must be able to use hands and arms regularly
- maintain proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Culinary (Sous Chef) Certification from an accredited school or 3-5 years progressive experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area in a supervisory or management capacity
- proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- strong organizational and leadership qualities
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- ability to interact effectively across all employee levels
Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in supervising daily kitchen operations
- act as Executive Chef in their absence
- ensure compliance with Florida state safety and health regulations
- maintain current state food handlers management certificate
- uphold company standards and enforce company policies and procedures
- manage kitchen staff and foster employee engagement
- oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control
