Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum two years experience as Sous Chef or similar role
- One to two years supervisory experience preferred
- Current Food Handlers Card
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office including Excel
- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Strong multi-tasking and communication skills
- Must demonstrate initiative and sound judgment
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and cost control
- Ability to prepare reports and manage budgets
- Customer-oriented and responsive
- Team-building and leadership skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum two years experience as Sous Chef, Assistant Chef or Assistant Kitchen Manager or equivalent education
- One to two years of supervisory experience preferred
- American Culinary Federation Certified Chef de Cuisine or higher preferred
- Current Food Handlers Card
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Advanced knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and cost control
- Ability to read and interpret food service periodicals
- Ability to understand standardized recipes
- Skilled in writing reports and correspondence
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Proficient in calculating food costs, menu pricing, inventory, labor standards, and understanding profit and loss
- Creative thinking and implementation of programs
- Strong computational and budget analysis skills
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, time management, and employee development skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to achieve high work standards and attention to detail

Job Duties
- Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf to support company goals
- Plan menus, schedule production, create purchase orders, assure food safety and quality, and prepare menu items to meet guest expectations
- Provide accurate recipes and cost sheets for all menu and banquet items
- Develop positive customer relations through proactive interactions
- Lead and create a productive and enjoyable work environment, encouraging open communication about kitchen operations, safety, and human resources
- Assist in hiring, training, and performance appraisal of culinary staff
- Supervise kitchen staff adhering to company policies and values
- Maintain a safe, clean, and collaborative kitchen environment
- Represent the company professionally in dress and speech
- Prepare regular reports, order guides, and production schedules
- Execute daily, monthly, and annual budget controls
- Stay current on culinary trends and attend relevant exhibitions and seminars
- Coordinate kitchen functions and complete inventory and labor tracking in absence of Executive Sous Chef
- Perform other duties as assigned
