Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- two years minimum experience as Sous Chef, Assistant Chef, or Assistant Kitchen Manager in high-volume kitchen or hotel operation or equivalent culinary/vocational education
- one to two years supervisory experience preferred
- American Culinary Federation Certified Chef de Cuisine or higher preferred
- current Food Handlers Card
- computer literacy with Microsoft Office and Excel
- advanced food safety, sanitation, and cost control knowledge
- ability to read, analyze, and interpret food service publications
- ability to follow standardized recipe formats
- ability to write reports and correspondence
- strong verbal communication skills
- strong computational and budgeting skills
- ability to implement innovative culinary ideas
- effective time management and employee development skills
- ability to maintain high accuracy, detail, and timeliness

Job Qualifications

- one to two years supervisory experience preferred
- current Food Handlers Card

- advanced knowledge of food, sanitation, and cost control
- ability to read and interpret food service industry periodicals
- ability to understand standardized recipe formats
- ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- effective verbal communication skills
- ability to calculate food costs, menu pricing, discounts, inventory, labor standards, and understand profit and loss
- ability to implement creative programs

Job Duties
- Communicate core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf to support company goals
- plan menus, schedule production, create purchase orders, ensure food safety and quality
- provide accurate recipes and cost sheets for menu and banquet items
- develop positive customer relations through proactive team and guest interactions
- create enjoyable and productive work environment by leading and encouraging communication
- assist in hiring, training, and appraising culinary team
- supervise staff according to company policies and perform team activities when needed
- maintain safe, clean, and collaborative working environment
- represent company professionally in dress and speech
- write reports, order guides, production guides, and clean-up guides
- execute budgets daily, monthly, and annually
- maintain standard of excellence and attend culinary events as needed
- coordinate kitchen staff functions and complete inventory and labor tracking in Executive Sous Chef absence
- perform other assigned duties
