Job Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in commercial cooking or apprenticeship or certification from culinary school
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations (HACCP)
  • Understanding and ability to demonstrate financial controls
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Service orientation
  • Leadership skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Execute and supervise food production activities such as cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning, and cooking food items
  • Assume responsibilities of Executive Chef during absences including menu presentations
  • Supervise, coordinate, and control kitchen helpers in food storage and maintenance of tidiness
  • Conduct, coordinate, and supervise inventories
  • Monitor material consumption and order required food and equipment daily
  • Participate in development of food products and menus
  • Ensure adherence to catering manuals and conduct updates as necessary
  • Implement countermeasures in production for customer complaints
  • Support training of kitchen helpers
  • Maintain and monitor hygiene, health, and safety standards
  • Conduct quality control checks according to HACCP regulations
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with recipe specifications
  • Organize, staff, and direct kitchen operations
  • Guide, motivate, and develop subordinate employees
  • Implement and control cost budget and initiate corrective actions for deviations
  • Participate in company initiatives such as Global Quality Standard, HACCP, and Lean Manufacturing
