Job Requirements
- Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods
- Ability to perform reaching, stooping, or crouching motions repeatedly
- Dexterity in hands and fingers for manipulating food preparation tools
- Visual abilities including closeness and depth perception
- Sense of smell and taste necessary for quality control
- Closed toe, non-canvas, non-skid soled shoes required
- Proficient in English
- Culinary education or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years high-volume cooking experience
Job Qualifications
- Culinary education or appropriate on-the-job training and hotel culinary experience
- At least 3 years of high-volume cooking experience
- Proficient in the English language
- Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proficient in general computer knowledge
- Ability to produce consistent culinary products in a timely manner
- A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with the ability to bring solutions and new ideas
Job Duties
- Assist executive chef and manage in his/her absence
- Manage kitchen and culinary personnel, including hiring, scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, and evaluating
- Coordinate purchase of food and maintain approved food and labor costs
- Develop and update menus with innovative cuisine
- Ensure all food products are prepared consistently and meet quality standards
- Oversee hygiene, safety, and sanitary conditions in the kitchen
- Organize and facilitate departmental meetings, training, and goal setting
