Job Requirements

  • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods
  • Ability to perform reaching, stooping, or crouching motions repeatedly
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers for manipulating food preparation tools
  • Visual abilities including closeness and depth perception
  • Sense of smell and taste necessary for quality control
  • Closed toe, non-canvas, non-skid soled shoes required
  • Proficient in English
  • Culinary education or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years high-volume cooking experience

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary education or appropriate on-the-job training and hotel culinary experience
  • At least 3 years of high-volume cooking experience
  • Proficient in the English language
  • Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge
  • Ability to produce consistent culinary products in a timely manner
  • A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to bring solutions and new ideas

Job Duties

  • Assist executive chef and manage in his/her absence
  • Manage kitchen and culinary personnel, including hiring, scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, and evaluating
  • Coordinate purchase of food and maintain approved food and labor costs
  • Develop and update menus with innovative cuisine
  • Ensure all food products are prepared consistently and meet quality standards
  • Oversee hygiene, safety, and sanitary conditions in the kitchen
  • Organize and facilitate departmental meetings, training, and goal setting
