Job Requirements
- three or more years of experience as sous chef in upscale dining
- ability to demonstrate discretion and leadership in employee relations
- computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems
- strong communication skills both written and verbal
- ability to understand and follow instructions in English
- ability to obtain manager food safety certification
- flexibility to work full-time shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays up to 50 hours per week
- physical ability to maneuver kitchen environment
- capability to lift up to 25 pounds
- stamina to stand or walk up to 10 hours per shift
Job Qualifications
- minimum three years experience as sous chef in a similar volume upscale dining environment
- culinary degree preferred
- strong leadership and employee relations skills
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and restaurant management software
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ability to collaborate across organizational levels
- fluency in English with capability to follow instructions
- food safety manager certification or ability to obtain
Job Duties
- oversee daily kitchen production and operations
- maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- ensure kitchen safety and sanitation protocols are followed
- collaborate with executive chef on menu planning and ingredient sourcing
- supervise and train kitchen staff
- manage inventory and order supplies
- adhere to health and safety regulations
