Job Requirements

  • U.S. work authorization required
  • three plus years of line cook and supervisory experience or culinary school
  • ServSafe certified
  • culinary education or equivalent work experience
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • ability to manage a team while delegating tasks
  • ability to handle difficult and challenging situations and conversations

Job Duties

  • Lead a small team in supporting and servicing the day-to-day kitchen activities
  • execute well-defined work assignments with moderate control and review
  • assist the Executive Chef in meeting and exceeding company food budget and goals
  • ensure kitchen staff are trained on dish specification
  • order food products to appropriate levels
  • prepare food for service appropriate to sales levels
  • monitor and control stock levels and ensure stock rotation
  • lead by example setting pace and standards
  • manage disciplinary issues in conjunction with Executive Chef/General Manager
  • communicate via team meetings, one-on-one meetings, training sessions, and notice boards
  • communicate a vision of success to motivate the team
  • conduct daily line checks and tasting of products
  • ensure timely food presentation and proper sequence
  • ensure preparation and storage of food meets company and health safety requirements
  • ensure kitchen is adequately stocked
  • respect co-workers and managers
  • maintain a positive and fun work attitude
  • promote positive perception of the company internally and publicly
