Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years baking and pastry food service experience
  • At least two years in a supervisory role
  • ServSafe certification
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
  • Successful completion of background investigation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain gaming license
  • Must work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years food service experience in baking pastry and advanced cake decorating
  • Two years supervisory experience in a culinary setting
  • Associates degree in culinary arts or related field preferred
  • AFC certification preferred
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Proficient in inventory control and computer literacy
  • Understanding of cost control related to menu items
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare a wide variety of baked goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, pastries, and breads
  • Decorate pastries using different icings and toppings to enhance presentation
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients and place orders within budget
  • Delegate daily tasks to bakers and ensure efficient completion
  • Set up workstations according to restaurant guidelines
  • Ensure proper quantities of baked goods are prepared as per production sheets
  • Supervise the production, preparation, and presentation of all dessert foods
  • Coordinate staff schedules to maintain optimum staffing levels
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitized kitchen environment
  • Ensure recipes and food presentations meet company specifications and quality standards
  • Coach, counsel, and train staff for improved effectiveness
  • Monitor labor and food costs to meet budgetary requirements
  • Comply with gaming, health, and sanitation regulations
  • Communicate food shortages and find suitable menu substitutes
  • Organize efficient production flow and follow up on daily tasks
  • Maintain menus and food quality standards
  • Direct activities of workers preparing and serving meals
  • Foster positive communication and professional work environment
  • Lead daily culinary operations and enforce company policies
  • Oversee banquet and special event food preparation
