Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One to two years of related work experience
  • Advanced knowledge of food service principles and management
  • Ability to manage staff and daily kitchen operations
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Physical ability to meet job demands including lifting, standing for extended periods and working in varying temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One to two years of employment in a related position within this company or other organizations
  • Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the food profession, including management of people and complex food and beverage operations

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily production, preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel's restaurant(s) and room service to ensure a quality, consistent product which conforms to all franchise standards
  • Manage human resources in the production and preparation areas of the kitchen to attract, retain and motivate employees while providing a safe work environment
  • Interview, hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel staff
  • Recommend and conduct performance and salary reviews, provide open communication, recommend discipline and termination as appropriate
  • Schedule and manage the maintenance and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment and related areas to ensure a healthy, safe work environment meeting or exceeding federal, state, corporate and franchise standards and regulations
  • Monitor, analyze and control labor and food costs
  • prepare reports, charts and schedules to ensure budgets are met or exceeded while maintaining or improving quality
  • Promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and related expenses
