Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • three-year satisfactory cooking experience required
  • ability to walk/stand for long periods of time
  • ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment
  • physical ability to maneuver around the venue, including walking/standing for 8-10 hours or greater, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs or more, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • culinary degree and/or directly related experience preferred
  • three-year satisfactory cooking experience required
  • ServSafe and TIPS certification preferred
  • ability to lead team members with culinary tasks
  • ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • must be able to work independently and as a part of team while always maintaining high standard, positive attitude, and professional appearance
  • exceptional hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • ability to make professional, independent, and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures
  • strong ability to adapt to changes, work effectively under pressure and produce accurate results in a face-paced environment
  • ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Work directly with chefs and consult chefs on any concerns
  • prepare/process/portion all foods as specified for chefs
  • primary assignments include hot foods, soups, sauces, meats, and presentation
  • read and follow recipes, adjusting as necessary
  • follow production sheets accurately and monitor results
  • follow facility and chef's safe food handling guidelines
  • taste and evaluate food before serving to ensure quality standards
  • operate all kitchen equipment safely and correctly
  • understand and use the clean as you go method
  • clean and sanitize all food service equipment and work area
  • work with management to conduct inventory on a regular basis
  • maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area following sanitation standards
  • maintain a professional appearance, and professional relationship with coworkers at all times
  • provide total guest satisfaction through skilled and capable service in accordance with New York State laws and regulations as well as company policies, practices, and procedures
