Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Capacity to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to collaborate with a diverse team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar Sous Chef or senior culinary role
- Culinary degree or relevant professional certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, sanitation standards, and kitchen safety regulations
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Pacific Rim cuisine and contemporary dining trends is a plus
Job Duties
- Assist in leading and supervising kitchen staff ensuring consistent preparation, portion control, and presentation of all dishes
- Help train and mentor kitchen staff, emphasizing culinary techniques, consistency, and professional standards
- Assist in inventory management, ordering, and cost control
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine in creating special menus, suggest alternatives, and meet specific customer requests in order to meet and exceed their culinary expectations
- Ensure kitchen operations comply with local, state, and federal health and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment and ensure all sanitation procedures are followed
- Work closely with service staff to ensure seamless guest experiences
- Stay current with culinary trends and incorporate them into the kitchen's offerings
- Assist in monitoring all outlet kitchen operations, especially during peak business periods, working alongside the other culinary employees and making adjustments where necessary
- Monitor staff punctuality, uniforms, and hygiene compliance
- Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned
