Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to maintaining health and safety standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification
  • Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • Skilled in inventory and cost control
  • Ability to create and adapt menus
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Job Duties

  • Assist in leading and supervising kitchen staff ensuring consistent preparation, portion control, and presentation of all dishes
  • Help train and mentor kitchen staff, emphasizing culinary techniques, consistency, and professional standards
  • Assist in inventory management, ordering, and cost control
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine in creating special menus, suggest alternatives, and meet specific customer requests in order to meet and exceed their culinary expectations
  • Ensure kitchen operations comply with local, state, and federal health and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment and ensure all sanitation procedures are followed
  • Work closely with service staff to ensure seamless guest experiences
