Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in culinary roles including leadership
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physically able to handle kitchen demands
  • Must comply with health and safety regulations
  • Detail-oriented and committed to quality
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in a high-end restaurant or luxury resort kitchen
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • Strong knowledge of Hawai'i Regional Cuisine and local ingredients preferred
  • Ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Perform all tasks in the Alan Wong's Restaurant including relieving the Chef de Cuisine
  • Supervise and train all employees in the restaurant
  • Assist the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and Chef de Cuisine in planning and organizing food preparation
  • Ensure maintenance of food quality, freshness, and cleanliness in the kitchen
  • Oversee compliance with food safety standards
  • Coordinate kitchen staff activities to optimize efficiency
  • Support menu development and ingredient sourcing
