Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work 45-55 hour work weeks with varying hours
  • Must be physically able to stand, sit, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Availability to travel 35-45 days for management training

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience as a Sous Chef in a full-service, high-volume restaurant
  • Current Food Safety and Sanitation certification
  • Strong culinary skills including food preparation and cooking best practices
  • Working knowledge of restaurant industry operations, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
  • Strong time management, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Capability to uphold vendor relationships and handle challenges
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks
  • Flexibility with work shifts including weekends, holidays, and varying hours

Job Duties

  • Create exceptional culinary experiences for guests
  • Oversee and participate in daily kitchen operations including opening, closing procedures, receiving, food prep, and cooking
  • Train kitchen staff following company policies and procedures
  • Uphold standards for food preparation, plating, food safety, and sanitation
  • Control operational costs through inventory management and ordering food and supplies
  • Maintain workplace safety standards
  • Lead a diverse culinary team to achieve positive results
