Job Requirements
- No prior experience or training required
- or 2 years of relevant experience
- valid food handlers card required if applicable in the state
- ability to stand for over two-thirds of the time
- ability to lift up to 50lbs under one-third of the time
- must acquire Serv Safe Certification within the first available class following employment and maintain certification
- availability to be present for up to 3 special events per semester
- must wear a clean chef coat in accordance with organization’s dress code
- strong communication skills in English
- willingness to work in various temperature environments and physical conditions
- ability to use commercial kitchen tools and technology
- must comply with scheduling and time management protocols assigned by management

Job Duties
- Ensure the overall cleanliness of kitchens meets and exceeds health and equipment cleaning standards
- perform periodic inspections of kitchen to observe food preparation and service quality, food appearance, and cleanliness and sanitation of production and service areas and equipment
- lead kitchen team in chef's absence
- provide guidance to junior kitchen staff members
- oversee and organize kitchen stock and ingredients when Executive Chef isn’t present
- ensure a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verify all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
- keep service line prepped and stocked especially before and during prime operation hours
- assist with supervision of all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
- work with head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities
- verify that food storage units meet standards and are consistently well-managed
- assist Executive Chef with any duties or tasks needed
- hold availability open for up to 3 special events per semester
- maintain a pleasant appearance and wear a clean chef coat while in the kitchen
- communicate client feedback to chef and upper management as needed
- receive trucks and check for quantity and quality
- maintain professional relationships with vendors and clients
- abide by scheduling and time management protocols assigned by management
- assist in monitoring scheduling and time management of self- and on-site staff
- wash and clean raw food products ensuring proper rotation in ovens following hold time standards
- stock and restock items online according to specifications
- transfer to other worksites as deemed necessary by management
- perform other duties as assigned
