Job Requirements

  • Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and living onboard Disney Cruise Line vessel
  • willing to follow safety role and emergency responsibilities
  • willing to uphold safety management responsibilities
  • willing to share confined cabin in multicultural environment
  • have valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa
  • complete pre-employment medical
  • obtain criminal background check
  • bring approved work shoes
  • pass drug and alcohol testing
  • minimum three years formal culinary training
  • minimum three years culinary experience
  • leadership ability
  • proficiency in safe food handling

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum three years formal culinary training or recognized apprenticeship
  • minimum three years culinary experience with at least two years as Chef de Partie
  • leadership skills to manage diverse teams
  • strong initiative and ability to lead
  • thorough knowledge of food allergies and special diets
  • proficiency in all kitchen stations
  • knowledge of safe food handling, HACCP and USPH

Job Duties

  • Complete menu preparation for allergy and special dietary needs
  • ensure training and preparation follow company guidelines
  • exceed Disney Cruise Line and Vessel Sanitation Program requirements
  • prepare and lead culinary team through internal inspections
  • implement recipe guidelines and audits
  • provide feedback on recipe formulation
  • guide communication between galley crew and management
  • maintain food quality standards
  • understand and ensure opening and closing kitchen procedures
  • monitor equipment handling and maintenance
  • organize daily menu presentations and tastings
  • provide performance feedback to Chef de Cuisine
