Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work nights and weekends throughout the year
  • Must have reliable transportation to work everyday
  • Be organized and work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instruction and communicate questions
  • Have ServSafe Certificate for Indiana or obtain it within 30 days of employment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year in a Sous Chef position preferred or 3+ years kitchen experience
  • Understanding of inventory and food cost practices
  • Willingness to learn and lead
  • ServSafe Certificate for Indiana or obtain it within 30 days of employment

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the execution of menus for regular dining service and events
  • Ensures that quality of all dishes is at or above those of the Executive Chef and Club
  • Oversees daily prep, station set-up and is responsible for making up any shortcomings in these areas
  • Promotes teamwork and a positive attitude among BOH staff
  • Daily communication with the executive chef on product inventory needs
  • Assist in product quality, waste and food cost practices
  • Train new staff on the current menu along with the best practices and expectations of their assigned jobs
  • Is proactive in maintaining a safe and extremely clean work environment
  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and ideas
  • Assist the Executive Chef in inventory and is proactive with waste issues
  • Perform the duties of the Executive Chef during planned absences
