Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • college degree in Culinary Arts or Food Sciences preferred
  • minimum 2 years food and beverage experience with supervisory responsibility preferably in a hotel
  • ability to work in fast-paced, professional kitchen environment
  • physical ability to perform tasks including frequently lifting up to 20 pounds, bending, twisting occasionally, standing and walking frequently
  • adherence to safety and security procedures
  • availability to work flexible hours

Job Qualifications

  • Food Service Sanitation certification
  • CPR certification preferred
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • strong customer service skills
  • knowledge of food and beverage outlet operations, supervisory aspects, and service techniques
  • ability to multi-task

Job Duties

  • Direct the day to day operations of all kitchen areas including outlets, banquets, and stewarding
  • assign specific duties to all employees under supervision for efficient kitchen operation
  • select, train, and supervise kitchen staff in proper menu item preparation
  • schedule culinary staff to maintain coverage and control payroll costs
  • assist in procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of food safely and cost-effectively
  • prepare food according to specifications and work line stations as needed
  • monitor and control kitchen, equipment, and area sanitation to meet safety standards
  • assist with menu implementation and back-up tasks to improve revenue and quality
  • maintain par stock levels through inventory management and ordering
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
