Job Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- college degree in Culinary Arts or Food Sciences preferred
- minimum 2 years food and beverage experience with supervisory responsibility preferably in a hotel
- ability to work in fast-paced, professional kitchen environment
- physical ability to perform tasks including frequently lifting up to 20 pounds, bending, twisting occasionally, standing and walking frequently
- adherence to safety and security procedures
- availability to work flexible hours
Job Qualifications
- Food Service Sanitation certification
- CPR certification preferred
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- strong customer service skills
- knowledge of food and beverage outlet operations, supervisory aspects, and service techniques
- ability to multi-task
Job Duties
- Direct the day to day operations of all kitchen areas including outlets, banquets, and stewarding
- assign specific duties to all employees under supervision for efficient kitchen operation
- select, train, and supervise kitchen staff in proper menu item preparation
- schedule culinary staff to maintain coverage and control payroll costs
- assist in procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of food safely and cost-effectively
- prepare food according to specifications and work line stations as needed
- monitor and control kitchen, equipment, and area sanitation to meet safety standards
- assist with menu implementation and back-up tasks to improve revenue and quality
- maintain par stock levels through inventory management and ordering
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
