Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of professional cooking experience
  • Experience in healthcare or treatment facility kitchens preferred
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work on-site in Weatherford, TX
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience as a chef or cook, healthcare, residential, or treatment facility experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary needs related to detox and early recovery
  • Knowledge of food-safety regulations and health-code requirements
  • ServSafe certification or ability to obtain
  • Ability to manage a kitchen independently and maintain a calm, professional environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Reliable, compassionate, and committed to client wellbeing

Job Duties

  • Plan and prepare balanced meals that support clients during medical detox, prioritizing hydration, nutrition, and comfort
  • Adjust meals to meet individual dietary needs, allergies, and physician-approved meal modifications
  • Ensure all meals are prepared on schedule with quality and consistency
  • Maintain strict compliance with food-safety standards, health regulations, and facility policies
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized kitchen at all times
  • Implement and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food handling, preparation, storage, and sanitation
  • Monitor food inventory and place timely orders to ensure uninterrupted meal service
  • Track food usage, reduce waste, and maintain cost-efficient purchasing practices
  • Ensure all food is stored and rotated properly according to safety standards
  • Work closely with nursing and clinical staff to accommodate special diets, nutrition-related requests, and client health needs
  • Communicate meal schedules, ingredient changes, and dietary updates to the treatment team
  • Support kitchen assistants or dietary aides if applicable
  • Provide a positive dining experience that promotes comfort, stability, and recovery
  • Prepare snacks and hydration options appropriate for detox clients
  • Assist with accommodating clients experiencing nausea or medical sensitivities during detox
