Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid California noncommercial Class C Driver's License
  • Ability to pass background checks including Live Scan
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Completion of pre-placement physical examination
  • Satisfactory driving record under California DMV Pull Notice System
  • Mandatory reporter under CANRA
  • Availability to work varying hours including nights and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years demonstrated experience as a sous chef in a large-scale restaurant or hospitality environment
  • 3+ years experience leading or managing teams in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to work rotating schedules, holidays, weekends, and nights
  • Culinary knowledge of food inventory, recipes, menus, production methods, and nutritional information for vegan/vegetarian/healthy cuisine
  • Ability to organize, delegate, and monitor work assignments
  • Demonstrated skill in cost control and employee management
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation rules and ability to conduct training
  • Strong leadership skills in customer service and team meetings
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and deadlines
  • Skills in administrative problem-solving and numerical calculations
  • Experience developing healthy and nutritious recipes
  • Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, food processors, ovens, and grills
  • Ability to measure ingredients accurately
  • Proficiency in software for reports and spreadsheets
  • Valid California Driver's License

Job Duties

  • Provide team leadership and direction to production staff
  • Assign, motivate, and monitor work of assistant cooks and food service workers
  • Prepare complex menu items according to culinary standards
  • Utilize and train staff on production equipment safely
  • Ensure customer service quality and food safety compliance
  • Maintain accurate paperwork including service records and temperature logs
  • Supervise scheduling, training, and evaluation of team members
