Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • OR two-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • Two years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Ability to manage kitchen shift operations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to lead and supervise kitchen staff
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and labor schedules

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with four years of culinary, food and beverage, or related professional experience

  • Proven culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience managing kitchen operations and staff supervision
  • Ability to maintain sanitation and food safety standards
  • Competency in budgeting and labor management
  • Capability in coaching, mentoring and employee development
  • Customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with food handling laws and regulations
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment and handle malfunctions

Job Duties

  • Manage kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
  • Estimate daily production needs and communicate with kitchen personnel
  • Assist Executive Chef with kitchen operations and preparation
  • Prepare and cook various food types including special events
  • Develop and design new applications, ideas, and decorative food displays
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Supervise and coordinate cooks and other kitchen staff activities
  • Lead shifts while personally preparing food items
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to lead and influence team
  • Encourage and build trust and cooperation among team members
  • Serve as role model demonstrating appropriate behaviors
  • Maintain employee productivity
  • Communicate expectations and parameters clearly
  • Establish open and collaborative relationships within the team
  • Administer property policies fairly and consistently
  • Provide exceptional customer service and handle guest feedback and complaints
  • Achieve culinary goals including performance, budget and team goals
  • Develop plans to prioritize and accomplish work
  • Utilize Labor Management System for scheduling and tracking
