Job Requirements

  • Culinary school certification
  • 2+ years of chef experience
  • Ability to conduct cooking demonstrations
  • Experience in staff development and training
  • Proven menu development skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • English/Spanish bilingual preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary school certification through an established culinary program
  • 2+ years of experience as a Chef
  • Ability to exhibit showmanship and cooking demonstration to groups and media
  • Kitchen and staff development and training through cross-training and multi-tasking
  • Established history of menu development and creating profitable dishes
  • Ability to analyze menus and culinary operations, alter and develop menus, determine profitability of menu items, and calculate plate costs and menu mix costs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays and travel throughout the state
  • English/Spanish bilingual preferred

Job Duties

  • Proactively identify qualified new, lost and underpenetrated business leads for targeted consultation opportunities
  • Support and at times lead the Business Solutions Workshop process
  • Participate in new item processes and tastings at the Branch level identifying features and benefits for new items
  • Assist in identifying the viability of new items with the goal of SKU reduction and special-order rationalization
  • Act as an in-house consultant directly working with customers to identify deficiencies in their operations, menu, marketing plan, or facility
  • Create and manage customized solutions for Shamrock’s customers utilizing the Business Solutions Department, internal specialist, preferred vendors, designers, marketing specialists and industry professionals
  • Coordinate Business Solutions Workshops with pre-work, day-of execution, and follow-up as necessary
  • Develop and implement a culinary training program for the Sales Department emphasizing hands-on, interactive approaches for use at Sales Meetings, Product training and Sales related venues
  • Other duties may be assigned
