Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Or two-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • Two years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Experience with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Ability to work full time on site
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist in developing new culinary applications and artistic food presentation
  • Support supervision of kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with food and beverage policies and standards
  • Inform purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Perform duties of kitchen managers and associates as necessary
  • Estimate daily production needs and communicate to kitchen personnel
  • Assist Executive Chef with kitchen operations
  • Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ASI, and Health Department regulations
  • Follow proper handling and temperature guidelines for food products
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and report malfunctions
  • Prepare and cook foods regularly or for special guests/functions
  • Check quality of raw and cooked food products
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence team
  • Encourage mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Ensure associates understand kitchen goals and daily work parameters
  • Establish collaborative relationships and administer policies fairly
  • Communicate performance expectations and recognize achievements
  • Lead shifts by personally preparing food items
  • Provide exceptional customer service and handle guest complaints
  • Achieve and exceed performance, budget, and team goals
  • Utilize Labor Management System for scheduling and attendance
