Job Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in commercial cooking or apprenticeship or certification from culinary school
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations including HACCP
  • Understanding of financial controls including cost management and waste reduction
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Service orientation
  • Leadership capability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications

Job Qualifications

  • Understanding and demonstration of financial controls such as cost management and waste minimization

Job Duties

  • Execute and supervise food production activities such as cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning, and cooking food items
  • Assume responsibilities of Executive Chef during absences such as vacations and off-days including menu presentations
  • Supervise, coordinate, and control kitchen helpers in food storage maintaining tidiness and following first in-first out principle
  • Conduct, coordinate and supervise inventories
  • Monitor material consumption and order required food and equipment daily to meet production plans
  • Participate in the development of food products and menus for presentations
  • Maintain and monitor hygiene, health and safety standards ensuring HACCP regulations are adhered to
