Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 4 years experience in culinary or food and beverage
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience
  • Ability to lead kitchen operations
  • Knowledge of food safety laws and sanitation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Capacity to manage team performance
  • Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  • Skilled in budgeting and inventory management

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years of culinary or food and beverage experience
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field with 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to prepare various types of cuisine
  • Experience in kitchen operations and staff supervision
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Capability to manage budgets and inventory
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to train and mentor staff
  • Familiarity with labor management systems

Job Duties

  • Manages kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with Food & Beverage policies, standards and procedures
  • Estimates daily production needs and communicates to kitchen personnel
  • Assists Executive Chef with kitchen operations and preparation
  • Prepares and cooks foods of all types
  • Develops new culinary applications, ideas, or products
  • Assists in food presentation and creates decorative food displays
  • Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards
  • Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Performs duties of kitchen managers and employees as necessary
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and kitchen workers
  • Leads shifts through personal food preparation and execution
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence team members
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Provides exceptional customer service and manages guest feedback
  • Achieves and exceeds culinary, budget, and team goals
  • Trains employees in safety procedures
  • Identifies and coaches developmental needs of staff
  • Participates in employee performance appraisals
  • Communicates performance expectations
  • Attends pertinent meetings
  • Provides information to supervisors and team
  • Analyzes information to solve problems effectively
