Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three to five years of commercial cooking experience or culinary school certification
- Knowledge of HACCP food safety standards
- Ability to supervise large kitchen teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Capacity to manage budgets and control food costs
- Willingness to work on-site in Seattle, USA
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in commercial cooking or Apprenticeship or Certification from culinary school
- Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations such as HACCP
- Ability to understand and demonstrate financial controls including keeping food cost within budget and minimizing waste
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Service orientation
- Leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
Job Duties
- Execute and supervise food production activities such as cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning, and cooking
- Assume responsibilities of the Executive Chef when unavailable including vacation and off-days
- Supervise, coordinate, and control kitchen helpers in food storage and maintenance of tidiness and stock rotation
- Conduct, coordinate, and supervise inventories
- Monitor material consumption and order food and equipment to meet production plans
- Participate in the development of food products and menus
- Implement countermeasures in production in case of customer complaints
- Support training of kitchen helpers
- Maintain and monitor hygiene, health and safety standards
- Conduct quality control checks and ensure compliance with HACCP regulations
- Conduct quality checks of goods received
- Monitor and ensure compliance with recipe specifications
- Organize, staff, and direct the area of responsibility
- Guide, motivate, and develop subordinate employees
- Promote company values and management principles within the department
- Implement and control the cost budget and initiate corrective actions if required
- Participate in company initiatives such as Global Quality Standard, HACCP, and Lean Manufacturing
