Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum three years experience in restaurant or senior living cooking
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to manage staff and coordinate kitchen operations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Culinary degree preferred or equivalent sous chef experience
  • Minimum of three years restaurant, senior living or equivalent cooking experience

Job Duties

  • Assist in the overall coordination of food preparation and presentation
  • Forecast labor and supplies following the Food and Beverage budget
  • Interview, train, schedule and supervise kitchen staff to ensure proper food preparation
  • Ensure sanitary handling, preparation, proper storage of food and care of equipment
  • Assist with receiving and storage of foods and non-food supplies
  • Maintain community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization
  • Adhere to food quality, appearance and presentation standards
  • Produce and serve menu cycle programs compliant with nutritional and dietary criteria
  • Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy and efficiency
  • Oversee work assignments for kitchen personnel and assign special jobs
  • Assist in preparation of daily production sheets and forecast supply needs
  • Plan food production to coordinate with meal service hours preserving quality and temperature
  • Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production
  • Assist with serving meals and ware washing as necessary
  • Visit residents to evaluate food service and conduct evaluations to improve operations
  • Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner
  • Support culture that drives top-line revenue and occupancy
