Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum three years of restaurant, senior living or equivalent cooking experience
  • Flexible schedule including weekends
  • Ability to perform hands-on cooking and kitchen supervision
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Capability to forecast labor and supplies effectively

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience as a sous chef
  • Minimum of three years restaurant, senior living or equivalent cooking experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to manage and lead kitchen staff effectively
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Understanding of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements in senior living
  • Proficient in food production planning and inventory management

Job Duties

  • Assist in the overall coordination of food preparation and presentation
  • Forecast labor and supplies following the Food & Beverage budget
  • Interview, train, schedule and supervise kitchen staff
  • Ensure sanitary handling, preparation, and proper storage of food
  • Assist with receiving and storage of food and nonfood supplies
  • Maintain community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization
  • Adhere to food quality, appearance and presentation standards
  • Produce and serve menu cycle programs compliant with nutritional and dietary criteria
  • Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy and efficiency
  • Oversee work assignments and special jobs for kitchen personnel
  • Prepare daily production sheets and forecast supply needs
  • Plan food production to preserve quality, temperature and appearance
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of cooking preparation and production
  • Assist with serving meals and ware washing as necessary
  • Evaluate food service quality through resident feedback and conduct operational revisions
  • Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner
  • Support a culture that drives top-line revenue and occupancy through business decisions and employee engagement
