Job Requirements

- Minimum three years of restaurant, senior living or equivalent cooking experience
- Flexible schedule including weekends

Job Qualifications

- Culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience as a sous chef
- Minimum of three years restaurant, senior living or equivalent cooking experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to manage and lead kitchen staff effectively
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Understanding of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements in senior living
- Proficient in food production planning and inventory management
Job Duties
- Assist in the overall coordination of food preparation and presentation
- Forecast labor and supplies following the Food & Beverage budget
- Interview, train, schedule and supervise kitchen staff
- Ensure sanitary handling, preparation, and proper storage of food
- Assist with receiving and storage of food and nonfood supplies
- Maintain community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization
- Adhere to food quality, appearance and presentation standards
- Produce and serve menu cycle programs compliant with nutritional and dietary criteria
- Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy and efficiency
- Oversee work assignments and special jobs for kitchen personnel
- Prepare daily production sheets and forecast supply needs
- Plan food production to preserve quality, temperature and appearance
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of cooking preparation and production
- Assist with serving meals and ware washing as necessary
- Evaluate food service quality through resident feedback and conduct operational revisions
- Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner
- Support a culture that drives top-line revenue and occupancy through business decisions and employee engagement
